The Nifty 50 edged down 0.28% to close at 22,716.20 on September 29, 2026, a move of -64.05 points from 22,780.25. Bank Nifty edged down 0.39% to 54,259.95. 17 of the 50 index stocks rose and 32 fell, while across the broader Nifty 500 advances trailed declines 137 to 361. India VIX, the market’s fear gauge, fell 2.32% to 13.32.
